After 47 years, our old garage freezer was constantly needing to be defrosted. After some research found this "garage ready" unit on sale at Costco. After being delivered and set up, we were ready to load it up with all the frozen foods removed from our old unit. We did have some problems with loading the same amount from our 20 cu.ft. freezer to the new same sized freezer. Unfortunately, the door shelves were inhibiting us from closing the door. You cannot load the glass shelves to the edge and we had to change the way we loaded the freezer. Playing "tetris" with frozen packages of beef was stressful, and not always successful. We solved the issue by buying 8 tension curtain rods (2 per shelf) to keep a required amount of space between items on the shelf and items on the door shelves. We are cautious each time opening the door to avoid a possible avalanche of frozen food on our feet.

Great product, received in good condition. The small panel on the front doesn't seem to stick well to the door but otherwise is in great working order. I had read some reviews that the shelves were loose or ill-fitting... and this doesn't seem to be the case any longer. The shelves were secure and would not shift or fail. My older freezer was only 3 inches shorter but seemed to be full at all times. When filling with the same contents from the old freezer - this handled it in style. More shelving, more door space, brighter with the LED light... and with the Energy Star rating I'm looking forward to a lower electric bill. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

No temperature display and terrible shelf design

Large freezer but shelves are short and there are large gaps between the back of the shelf and the back of the freezer so things fall through and much less usable space than expected. No indication of what the temperature in the freezer is. No lock. No door open alarm.

It cooled off quickly, stays between -6° and -9° on the recommended setting. Much quieter than my prior freezer from 1997. I™€™m not a fan of the newer refrigerant so I held out as long as I could to buy a new one. The shelves leave a bit to be desired, would have preferred metal shelves as the bow under weight from the meat. Either that or an additional shelf. I had to add plastic buckets to utilize all the washer vertical space. Overall I like it, bought the matching fridge and have the same complaints. Hopefully it last 25yrs.

Roomy, well designed , and functional. I am pleased . The only thing I would add is adding a how to remove the shelving to the booklet. It took me a minutes to realize it was a clip system that required force on the back of the shelf to remove.

Great investment for food storage. Works great and my girl added baskets to organize everything. I feel it is a good value for the price I got. fits perfectly in my garage and had a thinner profile then I thought, giving me more space.The only downside is that you can't reverse the door. there is a wire going through it for the light on the door. the manual says you can, but that is a different model they are showing.other then that a good investment

We decided to replace our working 18-year old Frigidaire freezer with a newer, more efficient model. At first, we weren't sure of it, as the shelves are not as deep as on the freezer we had. The difference though is that the shelves on the door are deeper and hold more than the previous one. With this, there is a much more efficient use of space in the freezer and everything is much more organized and easy to see. Things are not getting "lost" behind items in the front of them on the shelf. The bright light makes it very easy to see everything. The only negative that I find is that I would like the bottom basket to have the front of the basket be higher.

First frost free freezer

We have had a Whirlpool freezer in our garage for 20 years and finally decided to replace it based on probabilities. It was an upright also but a manual defrost. I honestly wish that I could have gotten another one of the same sort as it has been so dependable and so easy, but this was the next best choice. It appears to function well after our initial installation and maintains a -11° temperature as the recommended setting. One thing I wasn™€™t very pleased with was reversing the door for hinge direction. It™€™s somewhat more difficult with the wire sensor down below and not as quick as usual for me. Other than that, the shelving arrangement works well. I wish the wire basket on bottom had a larger, fold down retention so that more could pack in there, but we™€™re going to modify it to hold more and that should be pretty simplistic.

I like this freezer as it is bigger than my prior. It seems to hold temperature well so far as I would expect in a brand new freezer. It has 4 strong glass shelves, a basket on the bottom and door shelves. I would have liked given 1 more star if it had 1 more shelf since the 4 shelves was not enough so wasted air space. I needed to order it so it cost my an additional ~$50.
